* Lake Arrowhead has an average depth of 100 feet and the deepest point reaching 185 feet. The Lake was originally built to provide water to the abundant citrus groves of the Redlands and Riverside ares.

* Lake Arrowhead was origianlly known as "Little Bear Lake" and its first settlers were involved in the logging industry in order to provide lumber for settlers not living in the mountains. The Little Bear Lake post office oepened in 1917.

Visit the Blue Jay Cinema in Lake Arrowhead. With four theaters, this local theater features first run movies that change weekly on Fridays. Although the theaters are small, a plus in my book, they are very comfortable. All new seats have been installed and they actually have, YES - LEG ROOM! For once our comfort was paramount, not how many seats can we cram into a small space and still meet the fire regulations. These theaters are comfortable and spacious. And of course, I go for the popcorn.  Try the seasonings that they offer. My favorite is the parmesan garlic. Sprinkle this on your popcorn, without butter and you have a healthy snack.

* Lake Arrowhead is currently owned by the Arrowhead Lake Association property owners who, after the Sylmar earthquake in 1971, were required to build a more earthquake resistant dam. A bond was passed to build a new dam just downstream from the original dam. In 1974, the new dam was completed, created Papoose Lake.

* Lake Arrowhead's average winter temperature in 48 degrees fahrenheit, with the average summer temperature reaching 78.27 degrees.

*Lake Arrowhead once bosted a narrow gauge steam railroad than ran along Highway 18.
